Fulfillment Lead — Pangea Reptile

Location: Zeeland, MI
Department: Operations – Fulfillment
Reports to: Asst. Warehouse Manager
Employment Type: Full-time/hourly
Starting Pay: Based on experience
 Pay Range: $20/hr-$28/hr
 Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00pm-4:00pm with OT during busy periods 


Position Overview:


Pangea Reptile is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Fulfillment Lead to drive operational excellence in our warehouse operations. As a leader, you will guide our fulfillment team across various sales channels, ensuring orders are processed efficiently, on time, and to completion. Additional responsibilities include managing inventory and ensuring performance goals are consistently met.


This role requires hands-on leadership, adaptability under pressure, and a commitment to continuous improvement, especially during high-demand periods such as the holiday season and the annual inventory audit. Overtime applied. The Fulfillment Lead plays a key role in team leadership, labor management, inventory accuracy, order selection, stocking, and fostering a positive, high-performance culture.

Key Responsibilities:


Team Leadership & Coordination:


·         Lead and manage the fulfillment team, prioritizing daily tasks and conducting morning huddles for clear communication.


·         Motivate, train, and guide team members to meet performance goals and maintain high service standards.


·         Oversee accurate and efficient order selection and stocking processes to ensure seamless order fulfillment and inventory flow.


·         Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth processing, packing, and shipping of orders.


·         Work closely with the Warehouse Manager to effectively shift labor and allocate resources to meet service level agreements (SLAs).


Performance Tracking & Metrics:


·         Monitor and track KPIs (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) and display metrics on LMS boards for team visibility.


·         Analyze performance data to identify bottlenecks and implement improvements.


·         Provide regular updates to the Inbound/Outbound Operations Manager on team progress and operational challenges.


Inventory Management & Issue Resolution:


·         Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies, stockouts, and overstock situations in collaboration with inventory control and purchasing teams.


·         Ensure accurate data entry and inventory tracking within the Inventory Management System (IMS), with experience in SKULabs strongly desired.


·         Troubleshoot fulfillment-related issues and escalate as needed for timely resolution.


·         Assist with the annual full inventory audit and maintain accurate inventory records year-round.


Timely Order Fulfillment:


·         Ensure accurate and prompt delivery of orders to maintain high customer satisfaction.


·         Monitor workflows to prevent delays and implement process improvements to optimize delivery times.


·         Flexibility to work overtime to meet customer SLAs, including but not limited to peak periods


Holiday Demand Management:


·         Manage increased order volume during peak seasons, including extended hours as necessary.


·         Maintain staffing and productivity during blackout periods, including Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and inventory audit week.


·         Note: Time-off requests are not approved during key peak periods to ensure uninterrupted operations.


Continuous Improvement & Process Optimization:


·         Foster a culture of continuous improvement, implementing efficiency-enhancing solutions.


·         Champion 5S principles to maintain an organized, clean, and efficient workspace.


·         Assist in the creation and documentation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).


·         Conduct training to ensure team adherence to SOPs, safety protocols, and 5S practices.


Collaboration & Culture Building:


·         Partner with cross-functional teams to eliminate inefficiencies and standardize processes.


·         Lead by example to inspire a positive, collaborative, and inclusive team culture.


·         Promote open communication, recognize team achievements, and cultivate a supportive work environment.


·         Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, ensuring every team member feels valued.


Qualifications:


·         2+ years of experience in warehouse, fulfillment, or distribution center operations.


·         Proven leadership experience in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.


·         Strong understanding of inventory control practices and fulfillment processes.


·         Experience using an Inventory Management System (IMS), with SKULabs experience strongly desired.


·         Comfortable analyzing data and tracking KPIs (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost).


·         Familiarity with 5S principles and continuous improvement methodologies.


·         Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to shifting priorities.


·         Strong organizational and communication skills.


·         Willingness to work extended hours during peak periods and adherence to blackout dates.


·         LEAN experience desired 

 


Physical Requirements:


·         Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs as necessary.


·         Flexibility to work long shifts and overtime during peak periods.
